Holy Cross Reformed Catholic Church of Toledo will celebrate its two-year anniversary – November 30

Holy Cross Reformed Catholic Church of Toledo will celebrate its two-year anniversary as a parish on Sunday, November 30, 2008. The Parish anniversary celebrations begins with an Dinner and Reception starting at 3:00 PM. With a special mass at 5:00 PM. Special Guest the Metropolitan Archbishop Phillip Zimmerman, the Presiding Bishop of The Reformed Catholic Church. The celebrant for the Mass will be Archbishop William Quinlan the Diocesan Bishop of St. Patrick Diocese. Other members of the clergy though out the diocese and who have served our parish over the past two years will also be present.  Ph. 419-517-6762

Reformed Catholic Church is inclusive and GLBT welcoming of parishiners and clergy. Several of the clergy are in life-long relationships, and in some cases both of the partners are clergy in the Church as well.

 

2008 LOCAL WORLD AIDS DAY ACTIVITIES

PROGRAM:  A BOY. A GIRL. A VIRUS

The AIDS Coalition of Toledo/Northwest Ohio (ACTNOW) and the University of Toledo Student Activities Office will be sponsoring a World AIDS Day event on Wednesday, December 3rd, beginning at 7:00pm.  The event will be held in the University of Toledo’s Student Union Auditorium.  Keynote speakers, Shawn and Gwenn, educate together using their relationship as a way to talk about the issues of sexual health.  (Shawn is HIV + and Gwenn is HIV –).  By combining humor and candor, they’ve successfully engaged tens-of-thousands of college students, and have shared their story with millions of people through Cosmopolitan Magazine, MTV, BBC and HBO films.  The event is free and open to the public.  Parking is free in Lot 10 from 4-9pm.  Refreshments will be served.

Family movie nights Central United Methodist church
Friday Nights November 14 - December 19, 2008

For the next five Friday's (Nov. 14, 21 & Dec. 5, 12, 19), Central United Methodist Church will be showing animated family and holiday movies.  Central knows the importance of having activities for LGBT families, as well as allies, and wants to provide fun ways for our families to get together. Free popcorn and drinks will be provided.  Doors open at 7:00 pm and the movie starts at 7:30 pm.

Holiday with Heart Charity Gayla - Sunday, December 7

 

Holiday with Heart Charity Gayla will be held on Sunday, December 7.  Proceeds from the 31st annual Christmas dinner dance will benefit HIV Family Center Foundation at the UT Medical Center.  This is the oldest and largest continual event for the GLBT community in NW Ohio.

 

Entertainment will feature jazz vocalist Kelly Broadway during the cocktail hour. After dinner Bob Norris and “The Class Act” will play a variety of pre-recorded sounds for dancing and listening.
